Ingredients
- 35 oz. potatoes
- 2 oz. butter
- ½ cup whole milk
- 7 oz. Gruyere cheese
- a pinch of salt and pepper
Method
- Peel the raw potatoes and then slice them using a mandoline (to obtain slices of the same size).
- Boil the sliced potatoes in lightly salted water for about 5 - 10 minutes, until almost tender.
- Drain the potatoes well and then set them aside, to cool down.
- Meanwhile, dice the cheese and melt the butter in a small pan.
- Coat a heat resistant tray with some of the melted butter.
- In the tray, add a layer of sliced potatoes.
- Using a spoon, drizzle the melted butter on top of the potatoes.
- Next, drizzle the milk on top as well and then add a layer of diced Gruyere cheese.
- Bake at 400F for about 15 - 20 minutes, until done.
