When in doubt about what to serve as an appetizer, try this recipe. It’s a great idea to serve potatoes in a crunchy and delicious way.

Ingredients

  • 4 - 5 medium sized potatoes
  • 1 tsp. table salt
  • 4 cups vegetable oil (for frying)

Method

  1. Peel the raw potatoes and then slice them thin, using a mandoline (to obtain slices of the same size).
  2. Wash the sliced potatoes well and then dry them using a kitchen cloth.
  3. Heat up the vegetable oil and then deep fry the sliced potatoes, few at a time.
  4. Make sure to take the chips out fast, so they won’t burn.
  5. Place the hot potato chips on paper napkins (to absorb the excess oil) and sprinkle them with salt to taste.
  6. Let the potato chips cool down and then serve.
